Clinically, hemangiopericytoma is usually of insidious onset. Hemangiopericytoma, first described and named by Stout and Murray in 1942, 1 is an uncommon spindle-cell tumor that pathologically displays a thin-walled vascular branching pattern. Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a central nervous system tumor that arises from the pericytes of meningeal capillaries. 1 These tumors are more likely to occur in males, most commonly in the fourth or fifth decade. 1 Signs and symptoms at presentation may include headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, and photophobia. 4 Intraventricular HPC is rare and most often found in the lateral ventricles.

These rare intracranial tumors can present as WHO grade I, II, or III tumors, with the risk of recurrence, metastasis, and mortality worsening with higher-grade tumors.

1 Meningeal HPCs (M‐HPCs) constitute < 2.5 % of all meningeal tumors and < 1 % of all intracranial tumors. 2-4 Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are a rare group of spindle cell neoplasms that include fibrous-to-cellular SFTs and related lesions such as lipomatous hemangiopericytoma and giant cell angiofibroma . SFTs were first described as originating from the pleura [ 2 ] and occurring most commonly in the thoracic cavity [ 3 , 4 ], but it is now recognized that these rare tumors can occur throughout Radiology images.

Hemangiopericytoma is a rare, painless and usually asymptomatic tumor affected in soft tissues and blood vessels. Blood vessels present in all over the body and hemangiopericytoma tumors are formed anywhere in the body, because of adjacent blood capillaries. Hemangiopericytoma is still current terminology in the CNS and is a distinct neuropathologic entity (not lumped together with solitary fibrous tumor) Formerly called angioblastic meningioma Sites Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a soft‐tissue neoplasm of pericytic origin that most commonly affects adults in the fifth or sixth decade of life. 1, 2 This tumor usually arises in the lower extremities or pelvis, and 10–20% of patients have metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis. 2 - 4 In adults, the clinical features, treatment, and outcome of HPC are similar to those of other soft‐tissue sarcomas.

Abstract A case of hemangiopericytoma is presented. Arteriographically there was a rich arterial supply to the tumor, with a heterogeneous blush and large veins which filled early. Hemangiopericytoma | Radiology
